Terms of Service
Last updated September 11, 2026
These terms govern your use of The Burner Account (the “Service”), operated by Luke Johnson. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
What the Service is
The Burner Account is a research tool. It publishes a daily, hand-curated list of consumer products that are attracting organic attention on social media, along with the curator’s own assessments and links to the original posts.
It is an information service. It does not sell products, source products, fulfil orders, or act as an intermediary in any transaction between you and a supplier.
No guarantee of results
This is the most important term in this document, so it is stated plainly rather than buried.
Everything on the Service is opinion and estimate. “Viral potential” is a subjective rating. “Estimated profit margin” is an estimate of gross margin before advertising costs and is not a calculation from any supplier’s actual pricing. Advertiser counts reflect a keyword search of Meta’s public Ad Library at the time a product was added, and both the underlying data and the product’s market can change immediately afterward.
We do not guarantee that any product listed will sell, be profitable, be available from any supplier, or be legal to sell in your market. You may lose money. Decisions about what to buy, stock, advertise or sell are yours alone, and you are responsible for your own research, sourcing, costs, compliance and outcomes.
Nothing on the Service is financial, investment, legal, tax or business advice.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to your business, including consumer protection, product safety, labelling, import and customs rules, tax obligations, and the intellectual property rights of others. A product appearing on the Service is not a representation that selling it is lawful, or that doing so would not infringe someone’s trademark, patent or copyright.
Accounts
You must provide an accurate email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account is for one person; sharing your login or redistributing the content of the Service is not permitted.
Subscription, billing and cancellation
Access costs $9.99 CAD per month, billed in advance and renewing automatically each month until cancelled. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card details.
You can cancel at any time from the “Manage subscription” link in the site header. Cancelling stops future charges and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. We may change the price with at least 30 days’ notice by email, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.
Refunds
If you are unhappy with your first subscription payment, contact thelukerj@gmail.com within 5 days of that payment and we will refund it in full, no questions asked.
After that window, and for subsequent renewals, payments are non-refundable — cancel before your renewal date to avoid being charged. This does not affect any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law, which override anything in this section.
Availability
We aim to publish a new list daily but do not guarantee uptime, uninterrupted access, or that any particular number of products will be added on any given day. The Service depends on third-party platforms and may be affected by their outages or changes.
Content and intellectual property
The curation, ratings, written commentary and design of the Service belong to Luke Johnson. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use it for your own business purposes. It does not permit republishing, reselling, scraping, or redistributing the content, in whole or in part.
Product images are screenshots of publicly posted social media content, shown for identification and commentary. Rights in the underlying posts belong to their creators. If you are a rights holder and want something removed, email thelukerj@gmail.com and we will act promptly.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that shares credentials, redistributes content, abuses the Service, or uses it unlawfully. Where we close an account for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of the current period.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Luke Johnson is not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, unsold inventory, wasted advertising spend, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, and nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify subscribers by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and the courts of that province have jurisdiction over any dispute.
